GoldenKey casebook launched at GDI-focused seminar features replicable models of Chinese enterprises across 20+ countries, with State Grid contributing 15 cases
GENEVA – May 28, 2026 – The GoldenKey–SDG Solutions, led by China Sustainability Tribune, today unveiled a collection of 37 solution cases from Chinese enterprises in the Palace of Nations in Geneva, demonstrating how the private sector can translate the Global Development Initiative (GDI) into practical action.
The casebook, titled “Implementing the GDI, Advancing the SDGs: Inspiring Solutions from Chinese Enterprises,” was launched at a seminar focused on the GDI hosted by the Permanent Mission of China to the UN Office at Geneva, under the theme “Promoting Trade in Services for Global Development Cooperation.”
The event marked the fifth anniversary of the GDI, which has become a major force in accelerating the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over 140 participants from UNCTAD, WTO, the International Trade Centre (ITC), diplomatic missions, research institutions, and businesses attended.
Solutions Across Sectors, Continents
The 37 solutions, selected from the GoldenKey platform, span more than 20 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, covering sectors such as energy, power, manufacturing, logistics, finance, technology, agriculture, and culture.

Broad coverage across GDI priority areas – From energy transition to digital innovation, from poverty reduction to ecological conservation, from infrastructure connectivity to industrial workforce development, the solutions encompass the full spectrum of priorities under the GDI, presenting a vivid picture of how Chinese enterprises are advancing the GDI as well as the SDGs on multiple fronts.

State Grid Leads with 15 Solutions
State Grid Corporation of China, the world‘s largest utility, contributed 15 of the 37 solutions — more than any other enterprise — showcasing its innovation capacity and strong commitment to sustainability.
GoldenKey: A Proven Platform for SDG Solutions
Since its launch in 2020, the GoldenKey has collected and helped to refine 2,365 innovative SDG solutions from hundreds of Chinese enterprises in the past 6 years, earning itself a reputation as the “Oscar” of China’s sustainable development landscape.
“These solutions show that Chinese enterprises are not only pursuing innovation but also grounding their work in the real needs of communities and countries,” said Professor June Qian of Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management, who officially released the casebook as GoldenKey Chief Coach.
The GDI, proposed by China, emphasizes “development first” and “action first.” The new casebook is seen as a practical step toward translating those principles into actionable models for the world.
“These outstanding practices provide valuable references for countries facing development challenges and set benchmarks for enterprises worldwide,” the casebook notes. “They help the international community build synergy, deepen mutual learning, and move toward inclusive, win-win prosperity for all.”
